Things have been quite random around here. Controlled but random.....does that even make sense?? The days are just flying by, and I am sure we only just finished last week....but here we are again, another weekend looming.
So, here's my 5 things that made me smile this week:
1. My husband's knee/leg: 6 weeks post surgery (6 WEEKS!!!! Where did that time go?? Very quickly for me, but snail's pace for him!) Anyway, the surgeon and physio have said that he's quite boring (we paid them $100 to say that) as his progress is a little ahead than anticipated. Thank you God!
2. Permanent work. Yay & nay. Nay: It's not really what I planned to be doing as far as working/raising a family - but "..my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD." (Isaiah 55:8) Yay: God's hand was so evident in the provision of this work - it just blew me away. (I joke that I was the only applicant - and maybe I was, but at least I have the blessing of work!)
3. The anticipation of going to a conference with my gorgeous bible study gals. Friday night & all day Saturday. CAN'T WAIT. We have decided that if the conference is boring and we're getting tired, we'll sneak off on Saturday and enjoy some coffee and a long chat together. Conference or not - it's a win-win situation. I'm having some 'me time' and also catching up with some beautiful gals.
4. Going for a run. I haven't managed to get out for a run in months. And although I went at 7:30pm at night....and it was freezing cold....and I kept checking over my shoulder the entire time, I felt so invigorated. Now, only to cram some training in for the Bridge to Brisbane in 4 weeks' time.....
5. Clean house. My daughter had a friend over for a playdate and as soon as her friend walked in the front door, she exclaimed, "WOW! Your house is so tidy! Our house is never this clean!". It really made me smile - what I consider tidy and what a 5 year old considers tidy are poles apart!!
Now, I'm going out on a limb here.....if you would like to join in my Five For Friday - I'd love to have your company! All you have to do is add your link and let us know what your Five For Friday is. Look forward to meeting you!
